The challenge:

Following our development of their Europe wide intranet, the concept was expanded and a full content management service was required for a global intranet covering 60 sites. Having worked with Mars since 2001 we understood their emphasis on employee engagement and involvement. We also understood that an online 'newspaper' would not do the job. What was required was an interactive magazine that could share ideas and knowledge as well as financial updates and community events.

The solution:

Working closely with the client team we developed a content management process that could provide news, business analysis, in-depth stories and a sense of community across 60 factories worldwide. The resulting site provides a true journalistic style covering a wide range of topics that concern the organisation. A very proactive approach has been taken to seeking out and developing articles led by key themes within the business.

Trusted by senior management and the client team our content management service is largely self managing. An authentic voice within the business the quality of our articles stands out and generates regular positive feedback from readers and contributors.

The benefit:

The service and process became the best practice framework for intranet management across the organisation. The reporting of highly technical business subjects has been widely commended by board members and the service is widely used as an initial port of call for managers to get key messages translated into stories everyone can understand and discuss.
